@suetanvil Had a look at smugmug a couple of years ago. Didn't like it. The other one I might have a look at.

I'm not really a photo guy so I don't have a good opinion on the sites themselves but neither of them is ad-supported or takes VC money.

Smugmug is a family business that charges a fee to users and mltshp has some kind of community ownership thing going.
